Windows Key + X
For those who are more familiar to the Windows 'Start' menu, clicking the windows key and X brings up a list of items right where the start menu used to be. This is a nice way to quickly get to task manager, control panel and explorer.
Windows Key + F
This shortcut makes searching for files much easier and quicker in Windows 8. Clicking the windows key and F will bring up a search just for files. You then simply have to type in the name of the file and it will appear.
Windows Key + Q
Similarly, windows key and Q will allow you to search specifically for applications on your PC. Once you'veinstalled a bunch of apps in Windows 8, finding one becomes much more difficult. Simply clicking the windows key and Q, you will be able to search for your wanted application.
Windows Key + W
Another searching tool, clicking Windows key and W will allow you to search through your settings. This includes everything that is included in your Control Panel.
Windows Key + P
For those using multiple screens, clicking windows key and P gives you a selection of options including duplicating your display, extending it or mirroring.
Windows Key + PrtScn
This shortcut allows you to take a snapshot of your screen, very useful when making step my step guides for processes on the computer. Simply click the windows key and PrtScn and this will save a snapshot into your Photos app.
